Spring 2025: Pachaysana
Pachaysana is an Ecuador-based nonprofit that helps universities and study abroad programs take climate action. They fund Indigenous-led environmental restoration (like native forest replanting and biodiversity protection) in the Amazon region.
While Pachaysana had a strong presence in Ecuador, expanding into the U.S. carbon onsetting market was a critical opportunity to scale their impact. Their expansion bet on new academic partnerships, so our work focused on building the infrastructure to support that approach.
We assessed their pricing model, analyzed how comparable onsetting platforms structured theirs, and developed two financial pathways: one geared toward institutional partners (like universities) and one for individual donors. Through this two-pronged approach, we helped Pachaysana shift toward more consistent, diversified funding — instead of relying on one-time grants as they historically had.
We also created early-stage outreach materials and brand assets to support their campaigns targeting new university partners.

Excerpt of a deliverable we produced for Pachaysana's leadership.
